Jeff's musical journey started when he was eight years old, taking piano lessons (from Mr. Pete Eisenbeis) . By the time he was sixteen, he made a big leap in developing his keyboard skills when he joined his first band 'Destiny.' At eighteen, he began playing professionally, and today, Jeff is still an active performer. He mostly focuses on his solo shows but also plays with various groups and ensembles from time to time. At one time, Jeff booked over 300 gigs a year for three consecutive years, entertaining audiences with his live performances. Well-respected and reliable professional in Louisville's local music community, Jeff keeps a busy schedule, demonstrating his versatility across a wide range of musical events. His dedication and talent have established his reputation as one of Louisville’s most accomplished musicians.
Jeff is a talented musician and composer who earned both his bachelor’s degree in music composition in 1995 and his master’s in 1999 from the University of Louisville School of Music. His hard work and skill have earned him numerous awards along the way. In 2015, he was inducted into the Jeffersontown High School Hall of Fame—an honor that celebrates his roots in the Louisville suburb of Jeffersontown and his dedication to excellence in music. Most recently, in 2024, Jeff received the ‘Best Keyboardist’ award from the Appalachian Arts and Entertainment Awards in Kentucky. His accomplishments serve as an inspiration to aspiring musicians and also highlight the value of music education and staying true to one's passion.
Jeff is a seasoned performer with a wide-reaching travel history, having performed all across the United States and even abroad in places like South Africa, England, Alaska, and Aruba. His impressive background includes working with well-known groups like The Impressions, Linkin’ Bridge, and the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra. He spent nearly 10 years with Louisville's own "The Wulfe Brothers' during the 1980s. Jeff has made twelve appearances on WHAS11's 'Great Day Live,' and between 2012 and 2014. He had the special honor of performing aboard the 'Governor’s Derby Train' with Kentucky's former Governor Steve Beshear. (They actually performed two songs together) Beyond his live shows, Jeff’s musical talents can be heard on recordings with regional artists, including albums by The Billy Hanks Band, David Owen, and others, highlighting his versatility and deep passion for music.
